Maria gets Second at Rip Curl Gromsearch in North Carolina
Ana and Maria drove 14 hours South to North Carolina for Maria to compete at the Rip Curl Gromsearch. They had a special mother/daughter time driving both ways and Maria surpassed all expectations finishing in SECOND place. We are very proud of our Team Rider… but most of all, we are proud of her conduct in and out of the water, her smile, sweetness, care, concern for her competitors, and work ethic. Way to go Maria! 🙂

Moving on to the Girls 16/U, it was an incredibly tight heat with crazy paddle battles going down on almost virtually every wave. Coming from behind to take the victory was the hands down event favorite, Caroline Marks.
With only moments remaining in the heat, Marks found a right that offered three turns, and a 7.5 score to take the victory out of the hands of Maria Barend. Third place went to Maddy Malizia, fourth Braidyn Cunningham, fifth place Logan Harris, and rounding out the final in sixth place, Coral Shuster.
